The Grape
Chardonnay is a green-skinned grape variety that originated in Burgundy. It is now the most widely planted white wine grape in the world, grown from Champagne to California, Burgundy to Australia.
Why It Matters
Its neutrality is its strength — Chardonnay is a transparent vessel for terroir. In Chablis, it expresses chalk and flint. In Meursault, it absorbs oak and gains weight. In Champagne's Côte des Blancs, it delivers the elegance and longevity that defines Blanc de Blancs.
In Our Portfolio
Chardonnay appears across the champagnes we work with — notably in Legrand-Latour's geological epoch cuvées, Romain Henin's Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru from Chouilly, and Champagne Ponson's Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut from the Petite Montagne.
