Domaine Goepp

Domaine Goepp

Alsace, France

The Goepp family vineyard was founded in 1950. Brothers Clement and Sylvain have recently taken over the estate with a goal to preserve family heritage while transitioning to organic agriculture (fully certified since 2020). Domaine Goepp's vineyards span three municipalities in Alsace at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile: Barr, Bernardswiller and Heiligenstein. Their vineyards include beautiful grand cru plots with a mosaic of Alsatian varietals: Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Pinot Noir, and Klevener de Heiligenstein. Vines are 30-60 years old on clay limestone soils. The Goepp brothers eschew additives to preserve grape purity. Their cellar blends tradition and modernity: shiny stainless steel tanks sit next to ornately engraved traditional foudres, some dating back a hundred years. The brothers are part of a growing movement in Alsace to preserve traditions and terroir naturally.
