Fattoria AL FIORE
Miyagi, Kawasaki, Japan
Fattoria al Fiore has been producing natural wines since 2015 in the serene town of Kawasaki-cho, Miyagi Prefecture. Located at the foot of the Zao Federation, the area is a peaceful haven surrounded by rice paddies, mountains, lakes, and a warm, close-knit community. Visitors to the town often remark on its unique charm, which Fattoria al Fiore takes pride in sharing through their work. The story began with AL FIORE, a restaurant opened by Hirotaka Meguro in 2002 in Sendai City. The name, meaning "a flower" in Italian, embodies the idea that a single flower, simple yet captivating, can spread its seeds and blossom into a flourishing field, bringing joy to many. Fattoria al Fiore builds upon this vision, evolving from the restaurant into a winery that continues to foster connection, community, and shared happiness through winemaking. In 2014, Fattoria al Fiore began cultivating their first vineyard in Adachi, Kawasaki, an area that had been largely abandoned and depopulated. Inspired to revitalize the land, they planted grapevines and transformed the space into a gathering place. Their work is rooted in collaboration, equality, and harmony with nature, and they remain dedicated to sharing the joy of creation and the fruits of their labor with others.
