La Voluta

La Voluta

Languedoc, Hautes Corbières, France

La Voluta was born in 2014, following Anna Rubio and Jean-Benoît Vivequain's trip around the world, where they were inspired by diverse winemakers who shared their knowledge and experiences. The couple met in New Zealand while WWOOFing, produced their first vintage there, then settled in Cucugnan beneath Quéribus Castle in the Hautes Corbières. On their 6.5 hectares in the wild, rugged hills between Cucugnan and Maury, they observe and question each intervention for its necessity and impact on the living. Their work is artisanal and as manual as possible — patient and simple — to preserve grape qualities. Inspired by the Koru (Māori symbol of new life), La Voluta strives for vins vivants, sains, et libres — living, healthy, and free wines. Each cuvée is made only once, never repeated.

Winemaking Philosophy

Nous voulons des vins vivants, sains, et libres — We want living, healthy, and free wines. La Voluta questions each intervention for its necessity and impact on the living. Each cuvée gives freedom to create something new, driven by goûts, intentions et émotions — flavors, intentions, and emotions. No rules apply.
