About this wine
Kuntur is one of La Voluta's whites, a Muscat-Marselan blend from Anna Rubio and Jean-Benoît Vivequain's 6.5-hectare organic estate in Cucugnan, under the ruins of Quéribus Castle in the Hautes Corbières. Marselan (a Cabernet Sauvignon × Grenache cross developed in 1961) is unusual as a white-style component; the pair's house principle is that each cuvée is made only once and never repeated, which licenses experiments like this. Hand harvest, whole-cluster fermentation, short maceration of 3 to 5 days, native yeasts only, no added sulphur at any stage. 12.5% alcohol; expect aromatic Muscat lift balanced by Marselan's quieter structural backbone, the whole pulled into salinity by the Hautes Corbières limestone substrate.
